NZ Secondary Schools

Congratulations to MacKenzie Johnson and Annmarie Holst who have both made NZ Secondary Schools teams!!

It was a great 3 days of squash at the NZ Secondary Schools Teams event in Palmerston North with a total of 51 teams competing. (19 girls teams and 32 boys teams).

Northland had 3 teams entered - Whangarei Girls High, Whangarei Boys High and Otamatea College.

Whangarei Girls High School made it to the final for the first time and put in an awesome effort against Palmerston Girls High, narrowly losing with 3 close 5 setters which could have gone either way. Great going girls!

Otamatea College girls team came 7th, their first time attending the Secondary Schools tournament for many years.

Whangarei Boys High finished in 11th place, a gutsy effort considering they lost their 3rd seed with injury before the first match.

MacKenzie and Annmarie will travel to Brisbane with the NZ team to play the Australian Secondary Schools team later this month.
