Shelley Kitchen and Temwa Chileshe are the 2024 Northland Open Champions!

Congratulations to Shelley Kitchen and Temwa Chileshe who are the 2024 Northland Open Champions!

Shelley played Sacha Pou-Tito in the women’s final winning in 3 sets, while Temwa (WR#100) on Mason Smales (WR#200) winning in 4.

It was a busy weekend at the Whangarei Squash Club with 8 divisions and a doubles division.

Sid Smales and Ari Walsh took out the doubles division.

Jeremy McAllister (Manaia) won the junior division.

Hayley Rhodes (Manaia) won women’s division 1. Blake Anderson from Morrinsville took out men’s division 1.

Whangārei’s Rishi Ghosh won men’s division 2. Simon Sprague (Mangakahia) division 3, and Ryan Ikin from Kamo took out division 4.

The main sponsors this year were Orange Door Music (Ross Vickers), Haze Real Estate (Hazely Windelborne), Johnson Contractors (Jack Johnson) and Johnco Fence Hire (Daley Johnson).

The prize giving was followed by some delicious kai, a lamb on a spit.
