CONVID-19 Update 18/3/2020

Posted: 18/03/20

As you will be aware the CONVID-19 outbreak is a rapidly changing situation day by day, if not sooner. There is no need to panic, let’s use common sense while making decisions that are focused foremost on the safety of our Squash Northland community.

Clearly this is an unprecedented situation and we are closely monitoring government advice from the Ministry of Health, Sport NZ and Squash NZ. We will report any decisions made on tournaments, interclub, trainings etc as soon as they are made available. Squash NZ will be posting any updates on national events on their Facebook page and website regarding any changes.

Keeping players safe while participating is the top priority. Two key aspects of doing that are cutting down on social interaction and careful handwashing.

If you are sick, unwell, have been recommended to self-isolate, or are uncomfortable playing at this time, for the safety of all players please do not participate.

If you do continue to play please:

Bring towels to mop up sweat between games and after matches

Keep towels in your bag when not in use

Handshaking is not recommended, racquet bump instead

Avoid wiping hands on the court walls

Practice good hygiene around washing hands

Take care
