Craig Morgan from Dargaville Squash Club is now the country's newest qualified District Referee

Following a year of dedication to improving his own refereeing skills and knowledge with a view to giving back to the sport, Northland’s Craig Morgan from Dargaville Squash Club is now the country’s newest qualified District Referee.

Working alongside national referees Terry Manuatu and Heather Findlay to complete the required assessments, Craig has worked tirelessly to better understand the craft that is refereeing through his own practical assessments and observing others in action.

He looks forward to continuing to improve his skill set and utilising his knowledge to assist with local events, as well as helping others gain a better understanding of the subjective nature of many of the rules of squash.

Congratulations Craig!

All players can test their knowledge by taking the online club referees exam that can be found here – https://squashnz.co.nz/survey/training.cfm.  The exam is 50 multi-choice questions and takes about 15 minutes to complete.

For those with more experience and wish to work towards obtaining a district referee qualification, there is an online district referee’s exam which can be sat to begin the process – https://squashnz.formstack.com/forms/district_referee_exam
